What is Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI)?
The most severe form of Peripheral Artery Disease is Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI). Critical Limb Ischemia occurs when the accumulated plaque in the leg arteries causes complete blockage. When the blood flow is completely blocked, it may result in leg pain, wounds that will not heal, and in severe cases, gangrene and amputation. Approximately 2 million people in the United States have been diagnosed with Critical Limb Ischemia.1
Excimer laser technology has been used to treat Critical Limb Ischemia for over ten years with excellent results.
